Title: Strutting on a Log Beautiful Gobbler
Post by: Laloom83 on March 09, 2023, 06:37:31 PM
This was one of my favorite hunts of the 2022 season. Bird came in strutting and jumped on a log and strutted a bit before I took him!  Beautiful hunt.  Enjoy!

Cool hunt. The birds on my place in Tennessee love hopping up on logs, then walking back and forth, or loafing if it's rainy, gloomy day.

Beautiful video and hunt!  I love the strutting and gobbling on the log.  Scouting and camera definitely PAID off. This time of the year, it is Great to see video from previous hunts to get the Anticipation level up for the OPENERS.  Thanks for sharing!

After 9/11, we were required to put concrete barricades down our driveway at work, so no one could get up enough speed to ram the gate.

Our plant sits on nearly a 1000 acres and there are a lot of deer and turkey on the land.

For a few years, we had an old gobbler that during the spring would hop up on the concrete barricades and strut back and forth every day during the spring. Every once in a while, another gobbler would hop up on one of the other barricades and the bigger gobbler would get so pissed off that he would immediately go to the other barrier and flog the other gobbler.

The way he strutted back and forth looked like a carnival shooting game.
