Title: Subject: American company eliminates Labor Day
Post by: redarrow on June 22, 2011, 10:32:44 AM
Received this in my morning e mails.

Tyson  Foods eliminates Labor Day in favor of Muslim  Holiday!

Tyson Foods eliminates Labor Day in favor of Muslim Holiday! I think that you will find this very

interesting. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a  time. How do you take over America? One American at a  time. Tyson chicken anyone?? None for me  thanks!!!! We all need to heed this message!!!!!

TYSON FOODS ELIMINATES LABOR DAY IN  FAVOR OF MUSLIM HOLIDAY

        Tyson Food in Shelbyville, Tennessee has eliminated Labor Day as a paid holiday in  favor of the last day of Ramadan because they have 700 Muslim employees. The fact that they have almost that many non-Muslim employees is beside the point apparently!    ;

I will no longer purchase any Tyson  products. It's just one more little chunk of America that's been bitten off. If you wish to join me, then let your e-mail friends know this. If we don't stand up for something we will  fall for anything. All it takes for evil to triumph is for  good men to do nothing.

Wow!  I have a Tyson Foods as a national account.   Be interesting to hear their employee's view on this when I get back to work.

On a side note, chances are if you ever get to go through a chicken kill plant you won't eat anymore chicken.   Another reason to turkey hunt.

I'm always terribly leary of believe information in any email that I get, so I looked further than the link provided in the email.

The Snopes link only confirms that the author listed wrote the "outrage" letter it does not confirm the Tyson food claim.  However, if you search "Tyson" on Snopes and read the story, not the letter from someone in NY, the subject is explained in detail and had nothing to do with a Tyson Foods policy.  The change in holidays was through negotiations with the union that represents their employees, so it was the union at that plant only that requested the change in their contract negotiations.  Since then Tyson has reinstated Labor Day and given employees an option to take the other day as a personal day or something similar.  So, from what I can tell, the employee union is to blame for it.

There was something on the news a few months back about a town in Minnesotta that had a high Muslim population. They were about to change a bunch of laws in favor of the muslim traditions.

It was talking about how taxi cab drivers were refusing to let women ride if they were not dressed enough, and waiters refusing to serve your food if you ordered pork. Just crazy crap.

This used to be America...not really sure when we lost it.

I'm always leary as well, and take the opposite side, just to be sure. Drives my wife crazy at times.

I read the article as one may take the Muslim holiday as paid leave as an option, in place of taking a paid leave for a personal holiday like a birthday.  Labor day was reinstated.

While I'm not for giving up the founding fathers ideas of how this country was formed, and taking God out of this country, I'm not for disrespecting another person's ideas just because it doesn't mix with mine. And for the dot the "I" and cross the "T" people, that doesn't mean I'm for supporting anything which would cause physical harm to my family, country, etc.

I am guessing that hog processing plants don't have to worry about this issue.

Alls you have to do is watch the documentary Food Inc and you wont eat much processed food of any kind anymore, I now get all my Beef, Pork , Chicken and Turkey from a butchers market who do all the killing, slaughtering and processing on site, I have seen there chop shop if you will and I prefer that  over store bought any day.

If you want to see another movie that will probably make you stop eating fast food try watching super size me.......

If you like what you eat and dont want to know better dont watch these two documentaries
