I'm not going to be able to make it to the convention by 7 am Friday. If someone doesn't want one and is planning on being there Friday morning and wants to stand in line for a ticket for me I will be there around noon Friday and will buy the ticket from you. If interested please PM me and we can try and work something out. Thank you.

I'm not there this year. But I know that SOME folks were lining up at 11:00 last night !!!! :o
Oh wow! Didn't know that
I had to chuckle at "big gold turkey".
Really? People lined up the night before?
I would like to own one, but it seems I'll have a better chance after those 400 have been sold.

What's the deal with the vest with the calls in them. Are they being auctioned off?

This is where the line should form. Just to make sure people really wanted to own one. Lol. (guess the snow is blowing by so fast it is hard to see)

I was able to get in line around 6:30 Thursday morning to get one. They had more than 200 people Friday morning at 4am. I wasn't going to do that. I am the same way about getting "new" gear, calls, heck as far as that new shells to try out. Excitement!!!

Seat is made in Myanmar and the vest appears to be USA from what I can tell with mine.

Other than the leather it is all made in Myanmar. It is a great tribute to Mr. Fox but in my opinion the vest should have been made in USA 100% Like the Bob Dixon. I picked up the vest as good as possible that was on display and it is heavy empty so I myself would not want to hunt wearing it because it will be like carrying around a concrete block. Most people probably bought them hoping they will be worth big money one day. If not they paid 450.00 for a 25.00 vest made in a sweat shop. Like all other companies moved all manufacturing to some foreign country for the almighty dollar that is one reason we as a country are in the shape we are in today, not the only reasons just one. Does anyone know how many people lost jobs in Mississippi when Mossy Oak closed up manufacturing in the USA? (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230218/5fb5dbde61517cab6b36a598008c5189.jpg)

Has anyone seen any for sale yet? I'm hearing a few have surfaced for sale and bringing big money. Not sure if it's eBay or where tho. These things will bring big money for the numbered vests, especially if they have any of the "extras" with them
According to what I understand from one of the call makers the vest with all the calls will be auctioned off at different times. The ones that cost 450.00 are just the vest.
i was at the convention yesterday one of the vendor booths had two of the vests sitting on the table with a for sale sign on them they wanted two thousand for one
After reading about all of this, my personal thought on the matter is that old cliche of,..."some people have more money than they've got sense". I, either unfortunately or fortunately, depending upon how you look at it, am exactly the opposite....although some folks say I have neither.... ;D :angel9: :toothy9:
I would say, most people are buying them in hopes of getting stupid money like the Dixon vest. They always say a fool, and his money is soon parted.

100% it should have been made in the USA especially at that price. Very disappointing. Just like all the new companions stuff, I'm sure it's not made in the USA either. They didn't even get the cord collar right.
If you thought American made, I think some of you who bought this vest might have been blinded by the marketing, outfoxed if you will.

Over half the folks I saw with tickets to get one were exhibitors or vendors. Definitely a rigged distribution system.
Wait so the great AMERICAN turkey hero has his tribute vest made overseas? Wow! Well I guess he is still being a hero and putting food on those people's table. Maybe Kyle Ott can write another big worded tribute post about how Fox is just being a hero by helping people feed their children. Well thats if the kids aren't in shops working too I guess. Or he can get his brother Keith to go over there and make youtube video of it and spam it all over the interwebs. Call it "Chasing 49 cents". Unreal!

It most definitely was not. You wanted a vest, you got your butt in line and waited. You got in line super early to wait or there was no point. I was in line at 330 Saturday morning and was almost too late. Will primos asked to have one held back and was told NO. The only way to get one was to get in line...that came from toxeys son and I heard him say it. Nothing rigged about these vests. You wanted one, you got in extremely early and fought the obscene crowd to get there

.
I didn't see any for sale, heard of a few selling theirs pretty highs and heard of a few selling their cards after getting them
Heck, everything is for sale. For the right money, mine will sell too. I went ahead and got the shells to match and a limited cody call and they fox call by rolling thunder. I'll never use it but put it all up for later unless someone wants it worse than I do.
These vests will definitely hold their value and are the current era Dixon vest.
Also, i was told that the numbered calls for the first 10 will actually be auctioned separately from the vests. That is a money thing plain and simple and that's how it was explained to me. By selling the calls separately, it will appeal to more folks vs a vest loaded with the 10 calls that will likely bring $10,000 or a good bit more. The audience will be bigger if the calls are sold off separately. I even asked one of the call makers of this was true and he stated the same thing as I was told, so it is true

Yeah I was 61, was actually looking for #421!
I wanted #420. Got a stoner bud who was gonna pay me big. Now I'm only getting about $1200 for it.
I got card 303 and vest #311. There was absolutely no order of numbers on the vests sold. I saw some from the 500s, some in the 400s and all between. I'm guessing they brought 400 random vests to the show and they had absolutely NO IDEA the chaos those vests would cause and the craze to get them. The Hass boys hung right there tho. They were there day 1 and then day 2 as well right there with everyone in the lines at the extreme odd hours of the morning. They were ready to hand the cards out and go to bed on Friday morning tho. ????
Nathan what does 420 mean to you?

The Mossy Oak boys were up really late Wednesday setting up, and getting ready for the Thursday morning release and first day of the show. They ran non-stop and had an event "Pour One for the Poults" Thursday night just to return to the crazy line of people for Friday morning and hang out all night too. At 4am there was over 250 people in line so they handed out the tickets and allowed everyone, including themselves, a couple hours of much needed sleep.
The vests were totally randomized on the pallets so yes, almost everyone in line did not get "their" number. There was a little bit of trading going on and I now know 5 people that got their matching numbers, including myself, but that might honestly be about it.
I spoke with a young lady from Mossy Oak. She said they are going to sell vests again at the Mossy Oak outlet in Westpoint on March 11. She believes they will sell to people until there is no more demand or they run out. What is not sold that day will go online for sale.
I can promise you, the demand will not run out. All 1944 will very easily sell I'm record time. Wait times will be out of this world to get them also. There will be a crazy line of folks there to get the remaining vests. If they sell any online, it will be because they choose to. They won't have to I can assure you.
I really wish they had only made the 1944 and stopped. The un-numbered vests will somewhat take away from the rarity of them imo. Folks will buy the regular vests and flood the market with sales thinking they can the big money for them and they can't...OR... they will somehow get the numbers made onto them and there will be a lot of fakes out there
It would be nice if they specifically allotted some for online only for folks who can't attend the convention or live too far away from Westpoint. Online is no guarantee but atleast there is a chance for folks who aren't nearby.

I was told by a guy in Nashville (take it for what it's worth) that Neil haas told him they were only going to sell 200 at the mossy oak store to give more opportunity for online sales to make it more fair.
What did the one on ebay sell for?
The website will crash if and when they try to sell any that way.

It is presently at $3000 with approximately 5 days to bid. Great entertainment. I glad that I do'nt need one.
This is straight from the Mossyoak senior VP's post on social media.
"Here's a little history being made. The #5 Mr.Fox turkey vest with 10 handmade calls sold for 31K at the NWTF auction Saturday night. There were 400 brought to the convention and the lines starting forming Wednesday night at 7pm. Unbelievable turnout. The auctioned vest proceeds go to turkey research."
Says it came with 10 calls.

Absolutely incorrect. Anyone could line up to get a ticket, the line was formed outside of the doors out in the public space. Daniel and Neil Haas personally walked down the line giving the tickets to the first 200 people in line. I was there...
It was really pretty simple.
If you got in line with 199 other people each night/early morning, you got a vest.
A lot of us literally spent the night in line. The camaraderie with fellow turkey hunters was exceptional and it added an additional dimension to the fox vest experience. Good friends and strangers sat in chairs and on the floor talking about turkey seasons past and the one right around the corner. Folks I've only known through social media were there; handshakes were exchanged, perspectives were shared and the brotherhood grew.
One man and one commemorative vest brought hundreds of people together. It was a fitting tribute worth the price..... Just my .02

Actually,
The minimum wage in Myanmar is 4800 Myanmar Kyat which is $2.29 USD a day. So they are probably making around that. I wonder how many $450 Fox vests those poor Burmese kids made a day.
Probably about the same wage as whoever put your phone/computer together. And assembled your TV/radio, vehicle, I could continue to go on but I ain't......

If they weren't assembling vest, they'd not get paid at all. No $15 an hour options exist there. It's something or nothing.
Clearly Kyle Ott has a great outlook on turkey hunting and people, as opposed to the negative Nancys who appear to be hellbent on downing him and the folks at Mossy Oak. :z-twocents:

All jokes aside. I work in the textile distribution and manufacturing industry currently. I've said multiple times I'd rather buy something made in China or Bangladesh or wherever rather than here in the USA. I work in a uniform manufacturing facility in western Tennessee and it's an utter joke. I feel bad for everyone who buys garments from us. American manufacturing isn't what it used to be. I don't blame any company for outsourcing labor overseas in this industry.

That's awesome! I just wonder how early the line will start to form outside the mossy oak store in MS to buy a vest?

This is 100% correct! I was in line behind Kyle, Daniel and Neil were interacting with the crowd for 4/5 hrs. until it was called. It was great crowd and most people were having a good time or sleeping.
I was in line all night the second night from 10:30PM til 4:30AM. And the first night, a guy who I actually know personally, drove from SC and was the first in line around 7:30PM on Wednesday because he is crazy and was determined.
There was zero favor shown to any vendor or anyone else. Kyle explained it perfectly so I'm not going to break it down again.
And to the post of seeing a couple for sale there...I didn't see that but did actually see a sign "Wanting to buy" a vest for $2,000 with a phone number, and it wasn't on a vendor table...it was on a NWTF registration table for what it's worth. I'd have been shocked to see one for sale there, especially from another vendor.
My buddy was offered $1,000 and a Dixon vest. He politely declined, as he has a Dixon vest. Several folks, who heard, were looking for that guy I hear lol.
How many have been following these things on eBay? I know they are on there but haven't looked to see what they are actually bringing at auction end. I just got an email for some odd reason with a link to one. It said $4050!!! No way these things are bringing near that right now. It's number 300
One went over 5k. Also a Cody slate call with a buy it now of 1k!!! And someone bought it!!! Folks are paying big prices for everything associated with the vest. I am happy for them, both the buyers and the sellers!!!! All in good fun.
Have a good one and May God bless y'all, Bo

Dang! That's crazy? But if someone is willing to pay that, then food for them

Ill stick with my Glenda AMERICAN MADE O.G.Site member turkey call bag..
Here is the real crazy thing. Someone is paying $176.50 for a Quaker Boy Mr Fox slate pot call. You can order one from Quaker Boy for $80. Someone is paying $257 for a Rolling Thunder Mr Fox crystal pot call. You can order off the Rolling Thunder website for $100. I am terribly confused.

The primos box is the one throwing everyone for a loop. Can't seem to get it right now and folks and marking them up as bad as they are the vests. I got the cody call and rolling thunder. Wasn't too interested in them at first but that proves to be a mistake now. Got the shells to match too
Yep, one in the hand beats two on EBAY

I made the same mistake. I have the shells, Quaker Boy and Rolling Thunder. Hoping to pick up the Cody and Primos at Mossy Oak on March 11. Houndstooth is supposed to release a call soon too.

I agree with Kyle! Call me old school, call me crazy! But then, I see within a day they are posted on Ebay so someone can make a buck. I love the stories that turkey hunting can give me and my family. Stories like this one, is what I choose to believe why the boys came up with this vest. I just wish as someone mentioned earlier that it was available to us regular hunters and not just collectors or someone looking to make a quick dollar!

Sorry Kyle with the previous post. Meant to just use your quote not post in the middle of it.
