My goal this year is to acquire a ceramic pot.
I'm seeking recommendations from you guys who use them and consider them one of your 'go to' calls. If possible please include contact info on any recommended call makers.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance !!

I've had the k&h ol yeller back in the day....very good call. Several years ago I got the original Halloran ceramic, then a stumpy ceramic in a walnut pot, then a blackstone cherry ceramic ...very nice call. Then I got a Pecker Wrecker ceramic followed by a Gary Anderson padauk ceramic. I only kept the Stumpy. Sold everything else. Lots of good folks out there that make very nice ceramic calls including the guys mentioned above. Others that deserve mention are Jimmy Schaffer, Pastor Larry halford AKA Buster, Mark Cornelius and several others.
I believe you can get in touch with several of them here through pm.
Chris Brumfiel makes an excellent ceramic in an acrylic pot. It's a wet weather call, but he designed it for much more than just that. Great guy to talk with too.

Richard Gunn makes a excellent ceramic call
Find one of the older David Halloran ceramics, imo best out there
I've had a bunch of ceramic after using the old K&H to kill my first bird I favored them over slates as they were less temperamental, had an older halloran, jimmy Schaeffer, and a houndstooth cherry all were good and killed birds but my favorite was the houndstooth I ended up breaking it and haven't replaced it but it great. Halloran was right there too I just didn't have it long before I gave it to a friend

Stumpy and Buster are the ones I have. Both are good calls.
Busters Walnut or Mahoe tops the list for me.
Stumpy or Buster in a Mahoe pot.
Richard Gunn
Buster Halford
Outside those already mentioned, Travis Wyatt. My favorites are my Brumfiel and Wyatt. Both guys are on the forum. Travis is twyatt . Chris is Chris Brumfiel

Your going to get a lot of good recommendations on who are some of the best and from those mention they all make a good ceramic pot call... A couple that i will add that want break the bank and are good call builders of ceramic pots are Jim Shelly - his ceramic in a cherry pot and Kenneth Mullins - ceramic in a cherry pot... with ceramic, what makes it a good call is just how much conditioning it really needs. I've seen people ruin a good ceramic pot by way of sanding / sandpaper or using a conditioning stone on that surface ... throw that stuff... A good quality ceramic all it needs is cleaning ever so often with an alcohol pad and in between rubbing it with a piece of Scott Bite pad. Also keep your striker tip clean and that ceramic will play among the best of any other call surfaces. If i were buying another ceramic pot today i would want it in a cherry pot... and believe me i have a bunch of ceramic pots from those mentioned in this post that again are good ceramic calls..Carrying for your ceramic pot means a lot in how well it will play and perform over time... IMO... I hope this helps with your decision...
My favorite is Buster's in a mahoe pot. Absolutely fantastic. JLH bloodwood on it is my favorite. Yingling carbon fiber if it's a bit wet out.
I'd recommend Mr. Richard Gunn or Mr. Mike Robare. Both make fantastic pot calls and both are great guys to deal with.
Travis Wyatt makes a stone cold killer of a ceramic if you can get one.
Picked up a Houndstooth mahogany ceramic back in the fall. It's a talker and I'm sure it's going to the woods with me this season.

I've had quite a few over the years and there's always one in my vest. This year I bought the new David Hallooran Top Shelf ceramic and it's my new favorite. I can not wait to get this out in the mountains this spring. https://davidhalloranturkeycalls.com/top-shelf-ceramic-black-tan-edition/ (https://davidhalloranturkeycalls.com/top-shelf-ceramic-black-tan-edition/)
Lonnie Sneed's heart breaker
Ceramic is my surface of choice, I have several what I consider to be very good ceramics. My stumpy in a sycamore pot is great, I also carry a big j calls ceramic that is in a mike battey designed pot plastic pot, that call will absolutely scream. At unicoi this year I picked up a schaeffer ceramic in walnut pot and I am pretty sure this call will go on most hunts this year. It is probably my favorite out of the ceramics that I have. Another one to not count out is a Stanley Wymbs Black lightning ceramic. This call is right up there with the others as well. They will all see time this year.

You got a good one, I have a bunch of ceramics and Jim - ceramic is one of the best ... The one i have from Jim is one of his older ceramics in a cherry pot...
I have the heart breaker by Lonnie sneed, buster/mahoe, stumpy/mahoe, mark Cornelius/limba all in ceramic and all of them sound very good but the buster to me is the best with MAC a close second...

Thank you, From running the pot I just received Jim is still turning a very good ceramic!
David Halloran cherry/purple heart sassy ceramic best I've ever heard or ran... I own a few ceramic calls and non compare to that one. Good luck finding one.
Lon Trice makes a really good ceramic. I own 5 from him and all 5 sound amazing and will kill turkeys any day.
Gary Anderson Padauk ceramic is also a really good one. Has a unique sound that the gobblers like. Especially late season when they've heard it all. I've got several responses from that one and killed a few with it.
I would add Wendell Rye to the list. He made me a dogwood ceramic that is fantastic.
Or, you could buy a pre turned pot and make your own. Grassy Creek sells Ceramic disks and you can get the kind of sound board you can dream up. I finish all my calls with Tru-Oil but you could use spray Urethane. All the pots I have bought are very close to finished. Just a little light sanding and finishing. Just a thought.
Or, they sell plastic pots all you need to do is glue up for a water proof call.
Ches.
I just took delivery of one from stumpy, ceramic / walnut pot. It has replaced my Holloran.... And the Halloran is pretty dang good. Stumpys customer service is also as good as it gets.
Gary Anderson Daybreak custom makes great ones. Got a couple different combos of his.
I have a couple of Houndstooth's that I like really well.
Clay Townsend makes a good one as well. Of course Stumpy has been mentioned several times & is one of the top ones.
MAC Calls Ceramic over glass in a Walnut pot you won't be dissapointed, Mark is on Facebook
I just picked up a Gooserbat ceramic, and it is great! Sam is a great guy to deal with as well!

I haven't had a chance to take it to the woods yet but just purchased a JTS ceramic 2 sider with crystal/glass on the bottom and it sounds great. I will not hesitate to take it to the woods this season. Sounds similar to an Ol Yeller in the walnut pot that i carry. Similar, not the exact same. Should be a killer
I like my hollaoran ceramic call
Gary Anderson from Daybreak Calls.. Personally the best ceramic I've ever ran
I have a bunch of ceramic pots and IMO Stumpy makes the best. It has a permanent place in my vest.
I will cast another vote for Richard Gunn. Best sounding ceramic I've heard.

I have a Stumpy I like but may need to get a Richard Gunn ceramic too
Just had Richard Gunn build me a ceramic in a piece of hawaiian Koa. She's a smoker.
I've got at least 5 pieces of original ol' yeller ceramic surfaces. Signed by Mike Battey the creator. One day I'll make calls from them.
