Got a picture today of gobblers strutting shoulder to shoulder in north MS. Several hens in the foreground they're showing out for. Still have quite a ways to go but they're getting interested. :turkey2:
That's crazy!!!! Seems mighty early.

We are still a month or more before the gobblers will think about "getting right" but they're at least starting to feel good and show out for the ladies. Also, settling the pecking order for breeding rights.
Heard 2 hammering last Saturday of deer season which was Jan 28
Haven't seen this in central MS. Still in fall flocks

We should all know by now that toms gobble and strut all year long... This is nothing new, the only thing that changes is the frequency and purpose. Basic turkey biology 101.

Same here I'm south Alabama. But it's nothing new. It's like this every year.
They historically start getting frisky about now on pretty days . But days like today , cold / rainy make them re consider there actions .
Been getting a trio on camera strutting since the second day of February here in east central Ms....normal for this time of year.
