Title: Poult Questions
Post by: Gobble Nole on June 21, 2011, 09:16:56 AM
Where are the poults?  I am curious as to where the poults are located.  I checked my game camera yesterday and I have got 3 longbeards, 5 different jakes and just a couple small hens.  I am excited about next spring.

Are the other hens staying away from the gobblers with the poults down close to water or down in the thickets by the creeks?  I have been told that they will keep them separated for up to 12 weeks after they hatch.  We usually have 20-25 hens that use our property in the fall and I am assuming that they will return poults in hand a little later in the summer.  Let me know if anybody has experience with this.

They'll be in the grass eating grasshoppers.

Saw about 20 poults today with 2 hens filtering from some hardwoods into some overgrown field.
