Hey guys,
I've been on the forum for a few years, don't post a ton, but when I do it usually pertains to places I've been when traveling. Started turkey hunting when I lived in western IL after college, but I recently moved home & purchased a place on the water in Barnegat, NJ. Still planning on traveling to 4,5 states to get as much out of the season as I can, but I will be hunting for the first time in NJ (unit 14).
Curious if anyone is in NJ?
I live in KY but I am planning on hunting NJ this spring.
There's a few guys from NJ here. If you're down below there's a buncha birds there. FYI to you and roost1 the turkey lottery in NJ is now. If you are hunting a hard draw area like anywhere in south Jersey you better apply now. They sell out and are hard to get. It's only a 5 day permit except the last segment which is 2 weeks and Saturdays which are 4. Up north there's few birds in lots of places suddenly. Last year the zone I typically hunt never sold 1/2 the allotted permits. Just nothing to chase. Only small pockets are good and they're few/far between. If you have any questions you could pm me directly.
