I catch one or two coins on my property every weekend, Fri-Sun, the only time I usually get to visit. I catch them in cage traps one at a time, then dispatch "kill" them. Does anyone know of a continuous catch cage trap, swinging door, squeeze door, multiple door etc trap? I could eliminate "kill" a lot more if I had something other than a couple single catch traps? But I haven't been able to find anything. I did see a couple two door traps.
How do the coins set the trap off? Just kidding buddy I can't help ya. Why not set more than one trap? Snares are cheap, easy to make and coons walk right in them at times especially if you've got a log crossover. I'll catch em on both sides of a log same night
I guess in my world, coins are more than one coon :D. I guess I'll go with multiple cage traps at one location "feeder". I have two and a buddy is bringing me two more. I wish someone made a coon trap like a hog trap where you could catch multiple coins :wave:
A friend of mine was a commercial nuisance trapper, he used a colony trap he called it for muskrats, one way door and room for many rats. Not sure it would work on coons? Maybe catch their buddy or moms young all in the same set.

Have you considered the plant in the ground dog-proof type leg traps? I hear they are very effective.

A colony trap the way we use them drowns em. Coon might figure how to open the door if left alive real long I'd think. Must be a reason they don't offer something for coons?

Interesting. That got my creative Badonkadeke mind to working. I'm thinking in lines of bigger inverted cage trap with your hinge board idea, secured to a tree.

I don't think a cage would work well. You are going to need something they can't climb up.
I thought about that after the fact. Plastic drum/pickle barrel might be the ticket.
Metal barrel not plastic. "Coons" have nice little sharp claws. It would not surprise me one bit if a coon couldn't climb out of a plastic barrel.
Cage traps are pricey, but multiple cage traps may be the best easiest option OR dogproof traps. Could buy a dozen of those for the price of two coon cage traps. Just a thought.
