When this was discussed a year or so ago I bought the lightest Alps that only came in orange. Spray painted it and it's ok. Alps had several models with differing weights. Mine weighs a little over 4# and is what I carried on a long walk in hunt opening day of a FL quota hunt. Worked out. If weight the main consideration make sure you are getting the right model. Every once counts for me. Good luck.
How do these lower style chairs work in a tent? I don't use a ground blind often, but when I take my youngest daughter I do. I have tried camp chairs, dove stools, and the triangle fold up chair (which is the worst!). They are all terrible after a few hours! Can you see well enough that you're not constantly peeking "up" and moving around a lot? Thanks!!!

I know there was a blind made last year that is right close to the ground and in that I think they would work, but would not be good for the normal blind because of how tall the windows are on them and they would not be able to see out of them and neither would you. I haven't tried one of the Alps chairs. I do have a couple of the Cabela's chairs and couple from Walmart. They are basically identical. Like Joey46 said, Alps makes several models with different weights.

Like Sir-diealot said these would sit to low to the ground. In the ones I have, the seat is only 3"-4" off the ground. A time or 2, I did use a camo net/blind for the wife and I that is only about 2' tall.

I can say from experience that Alps makes some of the nicest and most comfortable hunting chairs. I've got a few King Kongs that I use in blinds.
