with this crazy Artic weather coming thru I figured most would be indoors and it would be a good time to to ask so, what is (in your opinion) the best barrel/gun mount turkey call of all time? for me, when I carry one of my 870's I lean towards the N&H T-Bone's Turkey Magnet that attaches to the receiver. For a barrel mount I really like the Primos Bombshell. Learned early on to do a camo job on it due to the shiny finish. Both over the counter products but both get the job done. so, what's y'alls opinions?
but, before everybody chimes in about mouth calls....I have turkey hunted since 1974 and have NEVER carried one in the woods. they are just not for me.
thanks in advance
I've never used a gun mounted call but the magnet push pin is a clever idea. The barrel mounted ones always look a little clunky/awkward to me.
T-Bone Magnetic Push-pin works real well, but I rely on the mouth diaphragm for his last few steps.....
ive never mounted it on the gun but ive bought both my boys primos bombshells in the past couple years. With the adjustments I can make it sound pretty good
yep btoddOO. I actually have 3 of those Bombshells. I also have a Lonesome Hen and a couple sets of barrel mount clips for the push pin types when I decide which ones to use them on. I really, really like the T-Bones Turkey magnet, it has an awesome sound. I personally think the gun barrel mount calls were a good idea.
I never was a guy who really used diaphragm calls, so i used a barrel mounted push pin on several occasions. I still use a push pin for the clucks and purrs.. Killed several gobblers with that cluck on a push pin...
