Could be the lighting on the photo, but the tips of the breast feathers, the coloration of the heads look more like hens than jakes???

Nope 100 percent young toms, but I agree they do look like young hens in the picture.
My trusty 10 likes the #5 Winchester, for yotes it takes fed.copper plated BBs, she's a beast and a coyote and turkeys nightmare.

 It would be a lot more of a beast with a load of 2 5/8 oz 8X9 TSS from Nitro Ammunition. Trust me, been shooting it for years out of a BPS.
