Title: New deal in Florida.............
Post by: Yoder409 on July 29, 2022, 11:37:46 AM
From an email this morning from FWC :

"Turkey hunters, a new rule takes effect this fall that requires all hunters (even those exempt from license requirements) to log and report wild turkeys they harvest. This new rule applies to spring and fall wild turkey seasons".

They used to have a fall season.   I think they still do on private land.

The new reporting requirements take effect with the fall seasons.  A fall season on private land has been around for years.  The differences between Florida private and public land rules is extreme.

This is a good thing. But how many will actually do it?

Like everywhere else that requires it; all the law-abiding ones...

Hopefully everyone.

Seasons.........bag limits..........tagging requirements........reporting requirements............   They are all set up for and dependent on the law-abiding sportsman.  Not the slobs.

In a quick read of the email I got, it appears to be a phone in thing.  Will you be able to report thru the FL Ourtdoors app?
Texas strongly encourages using the app.  I think they have a phone # too but I have used the app since they developed it.

Yes you can report harvests on the APP. And there is a Fall season. Bubba
