Title: Posting pictures issues
Post by: ncturkey on May 29, 2022, 03:31:42 PM
I am having trouble posting pictures.
I convert them to jpg file and upload the picture in my post.
The item in the photo is all compressed and shorter in length.
It looks like a short stubby Trumpet.

I'm sure some tech savvy guy can help you.  This forum is always a struggle for me to post pictures.  Reducing them as much as possible usually gets it done for me.   Using the Additional Options instead of other methods also helps.

I finally got to using tapatalk to post pictures on here, and it seems to be working o.k. I pick the middle of the
3 size options they give you, and they come out about right. I don't like how tapatalk want to access your
photo album though, so I just take the picture I want to post at the time. I am not tech savvy at all, but seem to be able to use this app. All this time I've been here and it's great to finally be able to post pictures!

I would use the Tapatalk app. It makes it much more user friendly

I use Imgur when I'm using my laptop, which isn't often. Most of the time I'm on my phone, so I use the Tapatalk app, and just upload that way. It's simple and easy.

I use Flickr.

Have it on my laptop and the app on my phone.  It's SUPER simple to do.

I had always had problems with my pics posting way too large on this forum.  Solved that by simply screenshotting the original pic on my phone and uploading that to my Flickr account.

I've posted using Tapatalk and it works fine...if you want to operate from your phone. From my PC I upload images to Imgur...painless...then select the photo, choose Large Thumbnail size then Copy the BBCode and paste into OG...equally painless.

I only post pics from the desktop and I use Flickr ...it is pretty simple. This is how I do it:

Upload the picture to Flickr: click on the arrow in the cloud icon at the top right hand corner of the page.
Select the pic on your computer you want to upload by clicking on the box in the middle of the page.
Click the upload button in the top right corner of the page and then again in the middle of the page.
Once it is there, click on the pic you want to post.
At the bottom, there is an arrow shaped icon, click on it.
A box opens up. Across the top of the you have options. Click on BBCode.
Select the size of the picture in the dropdown box.
Copy the URL(it's right above the size dropdown box).
Go to the thread where you want to post the pic and paste the URL.
Then just post your message as you normally would.

It sounds a lot harder than what it is. Hope that helps.

Not see any arrow.
Clicked all icons and no resizing tool comes up.

Forget Flickr...used to use it. Imgur far better and easier. Try it as per my former post.

PM me if you have any issues.

Are you on a laptop/desktop?
My mistake...Actually the "arrow" isn't at the bottom. It is below and to the right of the picture you clicked on.

There is a square with a pencil pointing into it(edit), the arrow(share), another arrow pointing down to a straight line(download) and a shopping cart. Click the share arrow.
