Currently hunting a piece of public. Found one making that sweet tune, that's music to our ears right before official sunrise. Got setup across a field from him and am currently still there.
He was going good then decided to clam up then a deer started blowing out to my right.
I've barely moved, So I decided to hammer a crow call in case it was another hunter even though I never heard any calls.
What say you, another hunter or predator that may have spooked the deer and/or scared him off possibly?
Sitting quiet to see if he gobbles again but nothing for 15-20 minutes.

The deer winded you and all your bug spray.
And the bird stopped gobbling because that's what they do.
Keep at it he is still around. Patience.

Probably this........or the deer winded another hunter.
But, YES. Keep at it. He clammed up. He didn't disappear. He's still there, reasonably close to where you last heard him.
Winded me is possible. Lazy about wind and scent control during Spring. No bug spray though.
Circling around and going to get up on the ridge where he was at now.

Probably either a chupacabra or a Sasquatch?

In WV ... more like the Mothman or possible The Grafton Monster ... a real long ways for Mothman to travel and a decent distance for The Grafton Monster to where I was
