Title: Jake or Tom?
Post by: Gooserbat on May 11, 2022, 12:37:37 AM
I can't tell.

I do know that with some bacon, cream cheese, cheddar and jalapeno and you won't care either.

That's one of my favorite appetizers. We have done them with quail as well, using the exact same things.  Your picture makes me want to go thaw some out right now.

Jake or Tom it doesn't matter, it all eats he same.
With enough BBQ sauce and bacon you can make a flip flop taste good!

Jakes don't eat just as good as as a Tom. They have like half the breast meat, it's a sorry excuse for some to take a jake.

Being satisfied with your quarry and being thrilled in your kill, as long as it is legal in your state, is what's important.

Looks like a jake to me....a gobbler would have been 2 to 3 times more nuggets on that tray.

Thin bacon (only time in my life I'll choose thin bacon) pat of cream cheese on the end, just a little bit of shredded cheddar, slice of jalapeno, thin slice of turkey breast,  rool into a pinwheel and spear with a wooden toothpick.

Broil until done...18 minutes in my oven...
