Have been working birds in multiple locations the last 4 days but could never quite close the deal. Today I had what sounded like 2 gobblers roosted in a spot I couldn't get to (to steep for an old dude) so I tried to get out in front of them, keeping track of them with the crow call. Finally found a finger that got me part way down and found a spot I believed I could kill one. First series with the Inzer trumpet brought an immediate response, but still a couple hundred yards away. Next series was holy sh#t, their close. Scratching in the leaves got the final gobble, and very close. When the red head popped up right in front of me the red dot was already pointed there, thanks to his last gobble. At the shot a mature gobbler was air borne and when I got on my feet a second gobbler was in the air. The third bird wasn't so lucky, the TSS #9's out of the SA-28 punched a bunch of holes in his coconut including 3 in his beak. I've read a bunch of posts on the use of a trumpet on this site, glad I finally tried it in the woods instead of the basement. It took you this long to try a trumpet? Lol, congrats!
OK Mike....you make super box calls. Now you should get into making trumpets.
I can see a fine offering of hand crafted Spring Creek Trumpets in the near future.
Nice. Congrats
