A buddy from back home flew out last Monday with his son who wanted to kill a Merriam's. It was a great couple of days spending time with them hunting and talking about old times. We had a couple decent weather days and made the most of them to get the young man's first two Merriam's.

I got out on Saturday with my oldest and we couldn't find a bird willing to sacrifice his life for our enjoyment between the snow and rain. However, my youngest and I found three brothers that were interested on Sunday, early enough that I still made it to church. My son was happy to accommodate the front runner of the trio when he strutted, drummed, and gobbled into view.
