To say that being retired allows for an open schedule is a fallacy. I left California just days before the opener in March. Even had an invite for the opener on a WMA that holds quite a number of turkeys. Figured I'd hunt the Idaho opener, and make a trip back to California for a wedding, May 1. Wheels came off the cart when my "SO" fell and broke her wrist. Headed back days before Idaho opened, surgery on her wrist in Cali went well. "We" had grand baby sitting commitments here in Cali, so I became the head nurse, cook, bottle washer and diaper changer for 14 month old twins all last week.
Today was my first day off.... Headed to the hills and killed a gobbler. Not a big bird, probably a two year old. Came in silent. Had his way with the Jake decoy. I put down the phone camera, and laid him out with the .410 and 9 1/2 hand loaded TSS.
I've got a short video. A grab and grin picture. And have taken documentation pictures....
Now to figure out how to post pictures again...

Been wondering where you've been. Great work on the bird! He didn't score all that bad at all.
