Title: To move or not to move … that is the question
Post by: Dhamilton1 on April 23, 2022, 09:33:26 AM
How often do you move if you aren't hearing anything, hens or gobblers?

Do you ever go to the truck or car and move to a another area on public?

It really just depends. I was walking around yesterday with someone who's killed hundreds of birds and we were mainly walking, covering ground, calling into drainages, trying to strike one. I asked him, "You like walking trying to strike one or sitting good sign better when they ain't talking?" He said he likes walking. My point here is it's largely preference. I do both. I enjoy both. On afternoon hunts I really like sitting known roosting spots for long periods of time. If I know there's been birds in an area frequently I'm a lot more liable to sit the sign. So those are the two things it boils down to: 1) what do you enjoy more; 2) do you know whether or not birds are frequenting the area? As far as moving locations altogether, I do that often. I love slipping into a place late morning, midday after someone else has already been in there.
