A neighbor has been helping a retired general move and today he brought me over a couple things he was getting rid of: 1) a gorgeous turkey painting by Russ Smiley; 2) a great copy of the two volume set of The Art Of Shooting Flying edited by Stephen Bodio; and, 3) this box call. Any info on it would be appreciated. I don't know much of anything about box calls. Familiar with the Lynch foolproofs but never seen a Herrins. Somehow or another it actually sounds pretty good

That's a new one on me.
Herrin sure wasn't shy about copying M.L. Lynch, though, was he ?? :toothy12:

That was my thought as well

What's funny too is I asked about it in a vintage call group on Facebook and the only comment I got was that, "Mr. Herrin also made a call similar to the Gaskins." Might have been a copycat Pat.

Not familiar with the call but wouldn't mind seeing the painting.

It's pretty big and I'll probably swap the frame and matting out but it's cool as hell!
