Post by: MCturkey on April 04, 2022, 10:10:39 AM
Wanting to send a shotgun to Sumtoy for some work. What's the best way to go about this? Need to do anything special? USPS or UPS?

TIA!

I would give him a call. He will direct you as to how to ship...good luck.

I wouldn't trust the usps with my shotgun.  UPS has much better tracking in my experience. I don't think you can use a UPS store however, you have to go to an actual UPS shipping center.

I shipped one to him a few weeks ago. I shipped USPS.  I had no issues.

Shouldn't be a problem shipping ups since he has a federal firearms license. The law is one person on either end has to have a ffl.

You can ship USPS, as long as box does not identify as a gun. You should insure you firearm.

I am not so sure about the part needing the FFL. If you "own" the gun, it can be shipped back to you without a FFL needed.

I shipped my Annie back to Annie for some trigger work and NO FFL was needed.

Disassemble it, pack the hell out of it and insure!
