Title: Boots
Post by: treein dixie on March 30, 2022, 09:22:35 PM
Boots so its a trade off Lacrosse 3mm is great for the wet grass but by mid morning the sweat has my lower pants wet and socks wet.  So if you didn't wear rubber boots walked in knee high wet grass and wanted dry feet but not hot when the sun hits you 9am what is best? Thanks

Knee high I'd say wear packable rain pants going in, take em off after.

Look at some leg gaiters like Dave Owens uses for that same purpose on Pinhoti project with some lightweight waterproof 10" boots.

I have been wearing gators for years, knee high grass is too high!

I wear quality all leather boots 8" with snake skin gaiters. They are a little warm but not hot to me. I'm good up to just below me knees which is about the same height maybe a little more than rubber boots. They are surprisingly effective at keeping my feet dry even stepping in water over my boots. As long as it's a quick dip I may get my socks a little wet but have been surprised multiple times accidentally stepping in a deep spot or sinking more than expected and coming away not soaked.
