Title: Trapping in season
Post by: ClayR089 on March 17, 2022, 09:46:57 AM
I've had a wild few months and have struggled to get by my family's property to set traps. Part of that is, I've been getting as much done so I don't feel bad when I hunt every day in April. That said, can I trap during season? Or will a trapped coon ruin my hunt?

Thanks

Is it even trapping season then?  Wont bother your hunt unless you set traps where you set traps where you intend to hunt turkeys.

If it is family land I would set traps near buildings and get what you can.

I can tell you if it was allowed, I'd trap year-round where I live and hunt. Seeing how it isn't, I still try and not waste any opportunity when the season allows.

Check your states regulations.  Also if  retain animals are termed a nuisance by a game warden you might be issued a nuisance permit to trapputside the regular season.
