We had a couple of unique visitors to our back field this afternoon. I have never seen smoke-phased turkeys. From behind they looked more white but from the side they looked more gray. They are pretty cool! I travel to hunt due to years of tradition but do let my kids hunt on our property. Give these guys a couple of years and maybe one of my boys will have a trophy!
Cool looking birds.
Great pictures, hope they make it for the kids. Had 2 hens running around my neck of the woods for a few years, watched a fox tree 1 one day, haven't seen them in years.
I called in a smoke phase gobbler a few years ago. I didn't shoot it because it had almost no beard so at first I though it was a hen. After observing it for a little while I realized it was a gobbler probably with severe beard rot. I was just so frozen by the sight (i tried to take a few pictures) I let him walk off. Never saw him again but it made for a very memorable and enjoyable morning.
Very cool looking birds !!!!!
Here's a picture I a took of him before he walked off.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220317/8f90ab62f09fa1598460bfad4d5b95eb.jpg)

Cool birds and nice pics.
I think the smoke phase is the best looking of all the different color phases of the wild turkey.
An obligatory full mount IMHO.
Beautiful birds.
