Was thinking about some of my favorite calls I've picked up off Old Gobbler through the years, and the more I carry this little Martin Brothers "Cherry Bomb" slate the more I love it! I've gotten some more high end calls off the site, but there's just something about this one. So anyways how about a thread celebrating your favorite call you've picked up here on the OG. Could be something you got new from a callmaker or one you picked up second or third hand...

This short box, yellowheart over black limba by Jeff Mckamey is a winner. I got it from the classified at a really good price. I'm a little hesitant to buy used but sometimes it pays off. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220306/9d3b95bcdadf3d8d25093c1f88fddf14.jpg)

Greg Gwaltney (on the forum) made me this awesome snakewood trumpet with a great leather braided lanyard from Steve (also on the forum) Such really nice people to deal with, this forum puts you in touch with so many talented artisans and although contentious at times such great information and engaging opinions. Love it!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220306/dacb7d82e3c5160ebca531f63dc691f5.jpg)

Really cool topic idea!
Never know what might pop up in the classifieds....like one of Mark Sharpe's Jordan style yelpers for example. Old school style, too, with the cork.

This is a custom Harrison hootin stick that I found in the locator classifieds last year.. This is by far my favorite barred owl hooter, and the best looking one I've ever seen
These are 3 Great ones I picked up on this forum. You all know them well. Fantastic calls..

I don't read posts where the poster appended an oversized photo. It just ruins a topic when you have to scroll back and forth to comprehend the conversation.

I wish I was computer savvy enough to remedy the problem.
I've no idea how to fix it.

Both of these Lonzo's were instantly snatched off eBay by two fellow members from the same eBay seller for absolute steal prices. I was very excited to be able to work a deal with both of them to add these to my collection.

An Olin Humphries laminated two sided ceramic/slate pot call. The lamination is cherry and poplar I think.

There's a few more of them out there. These are certainly my favorite Facebook find. The bottom right Black and far right Clear are from OG.

It is. I wish I would've seen what it looked like in 2012 fresh off the lathe because ten years later it's still got a ton of fire in it's flames. I have a LOT of calls from Lon and it's the first FBE I've ever seen.
Those Bullet green slate though, shew wee is right. He's got those absolutely dialed in.

This padauk ceramic from Gary Anderson. This call exchanged hands a couple times among members of the forums before I picked it up from the classifieds last year. After calling in several birds with it last season, it has earned a permanent spot in my vest.
The only thing I ever got from here is a light pocketbook and a mad wife. :)
A Bob Dixon vest for $130.00

Hope you bought a lottery ticket right after!
My best OG pick up wasn't a call but this hard to find book. After reading the Old Pro Turkey Hunter, I looked high and low for this book for years With no luck in finding a copy. I was finally able to purchase this copy from a member on here. I cherish this book and consider myself darn lucky to secure a copy in this good of shape.

An excellent read, and definitely much harder to come by than the Old Pro Turkey Hunter. I too am fortunate to have a copy in my library that I wouldn't part with as well. Great pick up.
Not to steal the post, but I've always been curious with everything turkey on this great site why is there not a section for turkey literature and collectors.
