Title: Ant problem
Post by: CB on the run on June 07, 2011, 07:59:07 AM
I have a carpet/wood ant problem at my cabin.  I saw a home brew of a paste with cotton balls and sugar posted on the OG site.  Could someone re-post the ingredients please?  Thanks.

I'd be interested in it as well.  We seem to have them all over this year.  Tons outside, and usually at least 1 inside the house every day.

I don,t know about carpenter ants, but dry oatmeal will get rid of most any ant. they take it to the queen she eats it and explodes, end of colony.

When we used to get them in another home surrounded by woods and fields, I would use a product that you sprinkled around the foundation and then watered in.  This worked well all year then.  Ants were gone quick, but came back next spring.  Got it at Wal-Mart or Lowes

I had the same problem with an RV that I kept at hunting camp. Had ants everywhere. I set off a couple of bug bombs in the RV and it solved the problem. The bug bombs did set off my CO2 sensor. Had to disconnect them to stop the squeal.

This is the formula I got on a previous post, 1 cup Borax, 2/3 cup Sugar, 1 cup water, mix ingredients together, dip cotton balls and set around in areas ants are seen. It really works!!!!
