The "what two woods" thread the other week has really kept me thinking, and at the time I really thought I couldn't leave out one of the exotics (snakewood, ABW, they're just incredible woods for calls), but the more I've sat with it the more I think I'd go with two domestics: walnut and osage. And if I had to just have one wood for everything, me being a pot call and yelper man, I'd have to go osage. It's just such an all around incredible wood so this post is a celebration of that. One of the things I love most is that iridescence it so often has and how it darkens with age. It's one of the few woods that just seems to get prettier and prettier year by year. So post a picture of your favorite osage call. This one here is an x trumpet from Anthony Ellis and it just seems to keep getting better.
