If you are anything like me, I hate having a dozen straps over my shoulders during turkey season. Seems like the straps are always sliding around and get uncomfortable very quickly. I've been looking for a way for everything to either be attached or in my backpack. I typically carry a backpack, chair, decoy, and a shotgun (like most). I've now got my decoy in my backpack and my shotgun attached to the pack. The only thing left was the chair.
I had the idea to create a "bucket" that was attached to the bottom of my bag that my chair feet would slide in. The top section of the chair would be attached to the backpack by a compression strap wrapped around it to keep from flopping around. This would eliminate the need for a chair strap.
I was able to use a heavyweight nylon fabric for the bucket portion, a 1"W x 18" L nylon strap, and a 1" tri-glide to secure it to my backpack. All the supplies can be found at a local fabric store for under $10. The bucket dimensions are 6" H x 7" W (might need to tweak the dimensions depending on your chair).
Putting this idea out there in case anyone else is looking for a solution for carrying their chair. Looking forward to trying it out this spring. I have been running it while hiking and it seems like a solid solution. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any input on it! Hopefully, the photos come through.
