Title: Lip Stop
Post by: Will on January 24, 2022, 07:48:41 PM
Question for you guys that make yelpers or wing bones and use cork as lip stops. I just recently made my own wing bone caller and have sanded and shaped a cork lip stop. What finish can you use to make the lip stop "harden" on the outside. Since I have sanded that entire outside and top of it to achieve the shape I wanted, the waxy protective coating has been removed and I want to give it some protection from wear and tear. If this makes sense.

Thank you

I use superglue (CA glue), about 3 or 4 coats

Brush on some "Cork Seal" and then spray with a couple coats of polyurethane.
