Title: Some birds on Missouri's Deer opener
Post by: mastevt on November 14, 2021, 09:25:23 PM
Had these fly down right in front of me yesterday morning.  I counted 16.  But there might have only 15 or 17.  Was hard to keep them straight with all their dancing around.  Was nice to see.  3 or 4 of them were adult hens.  The rest were smaller in size, so I'm guessing they're posts from this spring.  Nice to see.  Our numbers have been dropping year after year.  I've got a trapper to take out predators.  He started last year.  Took a bobcat, lots of coons and possums.  And a yote or two.  Hope he does well again this year.

I once saw a field in Missouri with 32 longbeards in it during the late fall while deer hunting.
