The turkey hunting fraternity lost another great friend and great callmaker. Anyone that knew Lee knew he was a one of a kind character and made some of the sweetest running calls. RIP my brother. Now you can hike those mountains. Love ya.
Sorry for your loss.

That's a shame. I didn't think he was very old. Any idea what happened to him?

He was in his late 50's. At this point, I don't know the COD. He had been having some health issues but they didn't seem life threatening. Lee never complained or said much about it.
He will definitely be missed!

for family an friends.

I am so sorry to hear this, had never met Lee but talked to him on messenger and on the phone and got a great cedar scratch box from him a few months ago. He was a real nice guy and will be missed prayers for his family.
RIP Lee, we will cherish your calls. :cross2:
Kind of a funny story, when I met him two years ago at Turkey Trot Acres I was looking over his calls and at first I was thinking about not getting one but I was sweating so bad that day I wound up dripping all over one of his scratch boxes and I felt guilty about it so I bought it. Turned out to be one of the best scratch boxes I have.

Thanks for posting this link Tony.
I received word of Lee's passing while I was out west in the woods hunting. Very sad news but I am sure as Tony put it he is now free to roam the hills no longer bound to his chair. He was a good friend and a character to say the least. I enjoyed many conversations with Lee and will miss him. RIP Lee

Real sorry to hear this, I have one of his Cane yelpers seem like a very nice fellow I was going to try and find some River cane and send to him to make calls. He had sent me some cork lip stops because I told him I had made a couple of wingbone yelpers and he wouldn't take a penny. Prayers for his family
