Listened to the Turkey Hunter podcast today and it sounds like Turkeys for Tomarrow is getting the ball rolling. They are helping fund 2 studies in Alabama starting next year. One is a study on the fertility of adult gobblers and Jake's and the other is a study on gobbling.
The study on gobbling don't sound like much but the way it was as explained they can extract a lot of info from it pertaining to gobbling and correlation to nesting and how to possibly set seasons to enable hunter satisfaction and not effect breading as much. There's other info they talked about gleaming from this study such as getting an idea of population densities and what habitats and management practices are best for good populations of turkeys.
They start talking about the the TFT funded studies somewhere around the middle of the podcast. The entire podcast was an interesting listen. Way more info than I could relay in a couple paragraphs here.

Stay tuned...TFT is all about the wild turkey, glad to see how quickly they are building steam and getting boots on the ground with wild turkey research
Looking forward to the listen. It's nice to have a podcast that is all about turkey hunting.
Nice, still got to get to this one...

Wish I could be OP. Maybe next time.
Hope they want to have something to do with the East Coast, seems if it is not the Mohawk Valley Region the NWTF has little interest in doing anything here in NY.
