Title: Snake going bird hunting
Post by: Flydown on May 31, 2011, 10:54:05 PM
My boys were in the front yard shooting their bows and one of them sees this dude easing his way up this tree. Not sure what kind it is, I just know its not venomous. I let him live. ;D

That's a rat snake for sure--he's a nice un too. Glad you let him walk--er---crawl. :)

Those things and the black ones are tough on baby birds this time of year.  Not to mention squirrels.

I guess that is why there were 3 baby blue jays running around in my yard this morning. They could not fly but could run pretty dang fast. ;D Momma was dive bombing me as I was trying to get in my truck.

That would be a gray rat snake and they do love raiding bird nests.
