We have friends in northeastern Nebraska, what subspecies will I find there? Thanks , Al Baker

If you are close to Iowa, it may be an Eastern.    I hunted near Burwell NE which is 3 hours west of Omaha and there were Rios And Merriam.

Mostly hybrids of Merriam's, Rio and Easterns. I've taken some along the NE/IA border that were white tipped and could pass for a pure Merriam's but most are hybrids and all gobble like domestic gobblers.  ;D

Mutt turkey for sure. Hybridization of all three subspecies in that area likely.

Just a note for the possible gullible among us:  Any time an outfitter (or anybody else) tells you that you can kill multiple subspecies on a property, they are just "blowing pollution up your posterior".
