Found this bald eagle with a fawn latched into its talons. I called the warden right away and they come and took possession of it. I posted pics on my FB page and have already done an interview with Outdoor Life magazine and a radio show along with the local paper wanting to publish the story.
Here I thought the gobbler I shot this morning would be the highlight of my day. Lol!!

Wow, that's different. I'd like to know the story behind that ending.
Congrats on your bird! i would also like to know what killed the eagle, were his talons stuck in the doe?
What an incredible find! Sad ending for both critters, but Mother Nature at her finest. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting. Sad but thats how nature works.

That is unreal!
Any power lines around? I just do not see what could have happened to it unless it was electricity
Interesting.
Congratulations on the turkey, and the find.
Really cool find. Thanks for sharing!
That's an incredible find. And we'll done on the bird .
My guess would be a disgruntled hunter saw the eagle with the fawn & killed the eagle.

That would not be a hunter, that would be a poaching scumbag.
Cool pics!! You won't forget that find!
Very cool! And congrats on the turkey!
That's interesting... Congrats on a nice gobbler
Wow, congrats on great find and gobbler.
Congrats on the Tom, and thanks for sharing, I hope you get a chance to follow up on the Eagle, would think Wardens would do a autopsy? Are there a lot of Eagles in the area? Maybe a fight over the carcass?
I'm guessing lead poisoning. The follow up will be interesting.
Maybe somehow he wouldn't let go of that fawn and he crashed into the ground. Cool find. I have found a nest and always wondered if I'll ever walk up to the nest and find something like that.

Wow, thanks for sharing and congrats on the Gobbler.
Congrats on the turkey. Bet you never thought you would stumble on to that find. Be curious to see what caused the death of the bald eagle.
Just a guess, but seems like it would have released the fawn if shot. A good dose of electrical current would probably cause it to clutch the fawn even tighter.
Awesome fine, thanks for sharing the picture.. congrats on the gobbler also..
Congrats on the gobbler! Dang shame you didn't find the eagle before the meat ruined, I've heard it taste like chicken.
I'm sure that hunt will be one you will always remember! Congrats on the gobbler as well & thanks for sharing those photos. Definitely don't see that very often.
Thank you for sharing the pictures and congratulations of the turkey. Second eagle story I heard this week, other was from a fishing guide that watched an osprey attempting to attack and eagle in flight. Guide said every time the osprey would attack the eagle would turn with claws. Said the encounter between the two birds went on for about 5 minutes.
I wonder if it's talons got stuck in the skull, which eventually killed it. The fawn is more deteriorated than the eagle. Are you going to follow up with the wardens to see if they determined the cause?

That's something you just don't see every day.
That's pretty cool!
Very cool. I just read it online on the Outdoor Life Page. Shared with all my friends. Pretty cool it's a member here. If you find out anymore let us know. Bubba
