Title: Multi-spurred gobbler
Post by: Genehalteman on May 15, 2021, 11:14:50 PM
My cousin shot a gobbler with 4 measurable spurs and 3 more button spurs this morning! Ever seen anything like it?(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210516/7535a4525ba07d09d96771a45a41f802.jpg)

He's getting a full body mount of it. The bird has given them the slip many times. Picture perfect as this morning was this gobbler didn't gobble a single time on the roost or on the grounnd. They were right place right time as the hens brought him past.

Man, that's super cool! Tell him congrats. I've got a buddy shot one but it's second spurs weren't quite that defined, just little nubbins.

Why do I see all these blank picture posts with a "Tweet" showing? Is it just me?

Awesome! Glad he is getting it mounted.

I killed one that had 2 spurs each leg, wished I had that mounted many times. That was 25 years ago and haven't seen another one since.

Very cool! Congrats to your cousin.

The only double spurs I've ever seen is on a Palawan Peacock Pheasant from the Philippines.

The 2nd gobbler my hunting buddy killed years ago had double spurs. Never seen one like that since. They must be pretty rare.
