Title: What a find today!
Post by: g8rvet on April 25, 2021, 09:05:51 PM
I was cleaning up my truck and organizing my turkey stuff today-season ended ;(

In the bottom of my turkey tote, I found some masks I bought last year and some gloves - all for spares.  Sitting in a sack were three boxes of Federal #9 TSS 12 gauge!  I don't even recall buying them. I must have found them for some crazy sale and was thinking of stealing the shot to try in my muzzle loaders.  That is how I got the HW#7 i shoot in them by pirating the shot from some of the 12 gauge that was for less than I could buy just the shot.  Other than the muzzleloaders, I don't shoot a 12 for turkeys.  Not gonna cut them open now.  Still have 6 boxes of Remington Hevi-Shot #6 for my son's 870, so he is set for a while.  My son in law was coveting them, he may be looking for a new combo next year.  better change my safe combo!  Or he may be getting a Christmas present early.  Come to think of it, I can swap him for 223 ammo.  He has a larger stockpile than me.

I was scrambling before the season to get some ammo. I thought I had at least an extra box, but I checked all of my ammo cams and found nothing. All I had was 2 shells from last season. I got lucky and Cabelas had my ammo for a 20 minute period before the season.

As I gathered all my stuff before the season (clothes etc.) I found that box I thought I had stuffed in a decoy. I was excited...the wife was then mad because I didn't actually need to buy two boxes of ammo.

Usually the only surprises I find getting ready for the season are year old little debbies.
