Title: New to turkey hunting/ kansas
Post by: Paulj4810 on April 02, 2021, 09:46:23 AM
Hello all, I'm new to turkey hunting in general, but I have a spot in Montgomery Kansas I can try my luck on. Just looking for someone who is familiar with that area. Are there even turkeys there for me to hunt?
Sorry I'm coming from TX and have never even been to Kansas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

While turkey populations are down in general in most of Kansas, there should be enough birds in that area to go check it out.
I hunt a little ways NW of where your headed, hopefully your going to be on private ground, the public area's get pounded pretty hard.

I'm from that area, and while populations as a whole are down (as they are in much of the country), I have been seeing more birds around than I have in years. There are decent numbers of birds around now, but a lot of them are jakes!
