Title: Two pure black wing feathers on Alabama gobbler
Post by: JohnSouth22 on March 30, 2021, 12:25:51 PM
Was curious as to if anyone else has seen a wing like this? Harvested yesterday in deep South Al. Ive harvested a few birds down here but have never come across this.

I can't see your picture for some reason.  But I killed one in Barbour county about 8 years ago that had two solid black primaries on each side.   And have killed a couple in Georgia with a single solid black primary.

Yes, I've seen that before on two different South Georgia swamp birds.

I've seen photos of that and seen solid black primaries all the way around on one bird here in MT.

I've killed two in central AL, one had 3 on each side and the other only had two on the right wing. They were probably a mile apart and I killed them 4 years apart.
