That's right.  The very first issue of Turkey Call was June of 1973.

OK, maybe I had the wrong year. Maybe the NWTF hadn't been invented yet!
I'm looking for an article referenced by Ralph Permar, on his website, on his page
"History of the Permar 1917 Style Yelper", wherein Ralph says,

"In early 1996 I read an article on Charles Jordan and his yelper, which showed a photo of one of his original calls.  I knew I'd never be able to afford the real deal, but thought they can't be hard to make, after all their appearance was not much more than that of a cigarette holder.  I put a few together with white nylon for mouthpieces and tubing for barrels.  During the year I learned how to make some sounds on the calls but was far from satisfied.

When the Nov/Dec issue of "Turkey Call" came out there was a reprinted article by Tom Turpin showing how to make a Jordan yelper complete with dimensions."

You want to argue with Ralph!

A copy of the article Ralph referenced would be greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to research how to make these darn calls.

In that context, sounds like Nov/Dec issue in 1996, not 1966.

Yes, you want the Nov/Dec issue from 1996, not 1966.  It's a 3 page reprinted article by Tom Turpin, with an Introduction by Jim Casada, "Making a Jordan Yelper".
