Title: 9 or 9.5
Post by: jwm1485 on March 24, 2021, 06:21:28 AM
Does any one know how much difference would there be with 9 or 9.5 shot through a 410? Got an old 410 from when I was a kid I might see what type of pattern I can get with it.

Per the Apex website #9 304 pellets #9.5 410 pellets. Sure it will be roughly the same difference with each manufacturer.

I would go 9.5, the first year I loaded my own shells all I could get were 9.5s, crushed birds without issue, still have a few rounds left.  I am shooting a 20 so I went to 9s but in a 410 no question I would go 9.5

The TSS pellets are extremely consistent, my shell calls for 1.625, I literally drop in the last pellet and get 1.626 99% of the time.  I think that is an overlooked part of the impressive patterns the shot produces!

About 70 extra shot per oz and 10 fewer yards of effective range.
