Yes for some reason the non-res tags are always a different colour.

I'm glad you were successful in our beautiful state. Maybe, with some international pressure from our Canadian friends, we could get a second tag! What portion of the state did you hunt?

I look forward to hunting birds in Michigan every year its where I first started this addiction. As far as quotas etc. I try not to get involved in how another state or province sets their rules. I am just glad that you allow me to come and hunt there as a non-resident.

I hunt in Osceola County  ;) .

Congratulations on your bird south of the border, how long of a drive is it for you down to your hunting area in Michigan?

Did you get pure Michigan from the Pure Michigan campaign or did you actually win the 2011 Pure Michigan Hunt drawing?

Kept reading it on the billboards thought it was neat.

I can't apply for the pure michigan hunt lottery as a non-resident  :) .

Here's my Michigan bird, taken in Midland County.  Had a vocal hen lead him away off the roost to the neighboring field to avoid me.  Watched him strut and breed for 2.5+ hours.  Multiple groups of birds would come, intermingle, and then move off.  He was unable to see my strutting Jake and DSD hen through the hedge row.  When he finally was exiting the field to go back to the woods, I cutt at him and he finally saw what was going down- and he didn't like it!  He followed his harem of hens in to the woods, but 5 minutes later his snow white head and fire engine red waddles were storming in to the field with me, right towards the Jake.  I wanted to let him come closer to lay a whoopin' on the decoy, but I was worried he was going to move out of my shooting window in the Double Bull.  A load of Nitros from the SBEII at 35 yards ended his day early.

Here's a couple of MI birds. First is my nephew's bird from Missaukee County(NW), next mine from Calhoun County (SE).
