Okay, not THE lottery, but pretty close.
Was looking in my standup freezer for the pulled pork I saved back from my last cook to toss in the smoked beans. While digging around, I found a half a turkey breast from last season!
I totally forgot I had it. It was my son's bird and we were having folks over on the day he killed his. I had already thawed one side of mine from earlier in the season and he invited over some other folks and made it a party. We cooked one of his sides that day too and he told me to keep his other side. I knew mine was gone, but forgot about his!
Cooking pork for a baby shower today and last night when I said it in front of my daughter she said "You are not cooking that tomorrow are you!". Her favorite meal is fried wild turkey strips.
SCORE!
Lucky you, I'm still eating fried turkey from last year.
Just yesterday I had half of mine from last season as well. Brined it overnight then cooked it up with sweet and sour sauce, rice and fresh pineapple. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy yours too.
Now you really gave us the urge :turkey2:
Completely out of game meat, gonna have to stack up the turks this spring!
Nice!! I used up mine long ago. But the season is almost here!! Fortunately I have a freezer full of venison!!
Sent from deep in the woods where the critters roam.
I still have 2 breast left. But still getting the itch bad!
