Title: Savage 220 Choke Reccomendations
Post by: Shoreguy on February 22, 2021, 01:52:29 PM
I have come across a savage 220 turkey in a trade and I was wondering what choke recommendations would you have for this gun.  I am looking for people who have experience with this gun.  I am planning to shoot TSS #9 1 5/8 oz. handloads out of it.  I have a Indian creek in my other gun and have had good luck with them so I wouldn't mind sticking with an Indian Creek.

Zero experience with that gun, However IC. Sumtoy and Carlson's.  TSS is pretty forgiving with choke's, unless you are just getting crazy chasing numbers all will likely kill birds well beyond typical hunting shots!

I am shooting an Indian Creek as well.

I bought one last Spring, tried 4 different chokes and the IC .555 did the best job for the loads I was shooting.
Loads were Federal TSS 1 1/2 oz. in #7 and #9
I have only killed 2 birds with it but I like it so far even if it is a little on the heavy side.
