Title: Kenny Morgan legacy
Post by: Nate on February 21, 2021, 09:41:40 PM
Does Kenny's boy or any one close to Kenny still make his line of calls?

Kenneth Lee is not making them.  Perhaps he will someday.  I will ask him or Sally the next time I speak to one or the other, which I need to do.

Still , his name comes up in most turkey hunting conversations in my region .
Says a lot about his impact he left behind . I would love to see his family re -boot his call company .

But there would be quite a few in line to get a few.

Kenny Morgan was one of the greats. His two books alone show how observant he was of the turkeys he hunted. I read both of his books before the season opens, in fact I'm reading 'America, Wild Turkeys & Mongrel Dogs' right now. I wanted to get his little wood call, the one with a striker, now it's too late. Kenny seemed to get into a turkey's head. He was quite the turkey hunter. When he was alive he lived and breathed turkeys. I got some insight from reading his books. Yup, he was one of the greats.  :z-twocents:

I saw one time a few years ago that they were wanting to bring his calls back, but I guess that is on a hiatus.

I've done some looking and there was a Mr. Wallace that was soposibly going to build them but never could contact him. I bought 2 books from Mrs. Morgan and asked her by email but never got a response.

Seems simple to me guys. Did he actually really school anyone how to make the calls? Are they experienced doing so? If not just because the share a name and blood would not make me get on line. Idk if this is or isn't the case but food for thought. We're never buying a name, like the Morgan caller, it's the actual call.

A legend in every sense.  I would spend your time and money to get one of his authentic calls instead of a reproduction.  There are already some imitators of his calls, but none come with the iconic 'KM' or 'Kenny Morgan' on them.  Can't think of a better way to honor his legacy than to read his timeless words and find one of his authentic calls to take to the woods.
