I am hearing that the turkey hunting in the Pocono Areas of PA is suffering as of late? Have you heard or experienced this? If so, are there reasons for the decline? I always ran into turkeys in PA, I am hoping it's not in decline. Thanks...
Not an exact answer to your question, but you can view the spring turkey harvest by hunt unit from 2019 and before at the following link:
https://www.pgc.pa.gov/HuntTrap/Hunting/HarvestDataandMaps/Pages/default.aspx
Units 3C and 3D have definitely had some down years recently compared to the early 2010s.
Wow, eye opening. This sums it up. These ares have a decline, wonder why. Thank you so much for this chart. I have witnessed the decline, but did not know it was this significant. Thanks for sharing. Great chart...
Thanks for sharing!

Yea, saw that in areas around me too. Thx......
There is a PA outdoor forum called HuntingPA.com (or maybe .net). Regardless, if you go to the turkey sub forum and do some digging, you will find many posts and comments about the decline of turkey numbers in the Poconos. Guys have been complaining about the lack of birds in that area for many years.
I hunt and live not far from the Poconos and like Deerhunt88 replied I also have seen a great drop off especially in the 3D area. I can remember a few areas where we would hear several gobblers just about every morning and now you may spend a week in the same area and only hear one or two.

Yea, I can remember hearing a few different birds in a given morning. Now it's tougher. Thanks for the info, best of luck to you both...be safe
I've seen a big decline in 3C over the last 15yrs. Personally I think it's habitat decline and increases predators

I do what I can on our place but hard to effect population with a small chunk all I can do is give an attractive location for them to move into if theyre around. Last year was the worst I could remember up there.
