I love my Tactical Tat'r vest but it doesn't have a spot to accomodate a hydration bladder. Anyone else modified their vest to take a bladder? I've thought about having a seamstress add a pouch along the back in the back vest part and adding a hole to accept the tube coming out towards the top...but If I do all that I might as well buy a new vest.
Any other ways to do it I'm not thinking of?
I have the same vest but I carry a nalgene bottle. I bet if you provide the material you can get it done for about 20-25 bucks. I would recommend a canvas material something like an army duffel bag is made from.

Have them see it in there with a zipper on top to pull the bladder in and out.

I've tried the bladders and i'm just not a fan of them...bottle water is the way to go in my opinion. Those bladders are hard to keep clean especially the cheaper ones ..
I started using a bladder last summer for walks and bike rides. I have been using a Nalgene for 25 years for all sorts of outdoor activity...but there isn't a great place to carry one in the Tat'r. So I have a bunch of smaller bottles rolling around the vest. I think I'll just wear my dedicated bladder carrier and then wear my vest over it.
I stated using a bladder a few years ago, will never go back to water bottles. Important for me as I drink a lot of water and the with the hose clip I can keep the nipple right on my shoulder - so much easier to use.
As for the Tat'r - I no longer use mine. I found the RNG 300 is all around a better vest, more streamlined and is water bladder compatible.
I personally love the bladder. Not having to reach or dig for a bottle every time you want a sip of water goes a long ways.
There's really nothing to adding a bladder to a vest. A simple "pilow case'' type pouch attached to the back at the 4 corners, then a small strap or two on the shoulder strap to support the tube. I mean you really could do it without a sewing machine if you had to. The leg from an old pair of camo pants and some ingenuity is all it takes. Funtion is the goal here, not appearance !!
I added a bladder to my tactical Tat'r vest using an old hydration pack that I cut the shoulder straps off of. When I get home latter today I'll take some photos and post them.
Here are some photos showing the mods I made to add a water bladder to my Cabela's Tactical Tat'r turkey vest. I cut a 3/4" strap with side release buckles and sewed the female end into the top back center of the vest under the back panel. I sewed the longer female end of the strap to the top back of the hydration pack. This makes the hydration pack easy to remove to fill and empty the water bladder. I added the Velcro to keep it in place and from moving around when hunting. The hydration pack has a zippered pocket as well as the cinch bungee on its back.

I did the exact same thing, but I used a regular water bladder.
