Alright men.
Tommorow starts the final push in my 2011 spring season. I have this weekend and hopefully thursday-memorial day. That will give me a solid 2 days for myself to hunt if I get those 2 days off. I feel compelled to get my son his bird if we hunt together, so the 2 days to hunt solo will help.
It's been a tough spring for me, but a week away from spring gobbler has recharged the ol' batteries and I'm ready for this last push!
Good luck to my teammates that are still hunting!
Good luck to you buddy...........it ain't over till it's over
Best of luck to both of you, it's getting time to shake that bag of tricks and pull a gobbler of that hat. :happy0064:
Lets go out and get up Mike, Good Luck. Scoot
Heading out to roost'm tonite. Hopefully, out of the 3 places I'm headed, at least one will give me his location!
Also, a change of plans. Hunting till 8 in till in the morning solo. Harrison has a ball game at 10, so I have to get home a little earlier.
Sunday will be a 5a till noon hunt.
:anim_25: can't wait for an update!
2 hens and 4 jakes was what greeted me and my FIL on a very soggy and foggy sat morning.
The gobbling has almost ceased, and I don't know if it's the 8 solid days of rain and cold weather, or if it's the dreaded gobbling lull that can occur.
Today was terrible. Not one single gobble anywhere. All I can hope for is some warmer better weather for Tuesday which is my next shot at them.
When it's all said and done, I will have given 21 days to spring turkey, which is a personal best as far as time spent in the field.
Lets hope Tuesday ends this thing!
It may be that you can't count on much or any gobbling and minimal calling response this late...it may e you'll have to set up and "deer hunt" em in fields or areas you think they frequent.....had to take that approach at the end myself.....good luck ...
