Title: Which APEX TSS 2 1/4oz or 2oz
Post by: Aholdren on November 27, 2020, 05:49:27 PM
Want to try the Apex TSS 3" for my 1187sp!  Other than price difference what's the advantages?  I'm considering the IC .665 choke, unless something shoots these better.

Thanks
Aaron

I just ordered my Indian Creek .665 for my Bottomland 870. From everything I have read, and great advice on this forum, the IC .665 does real well out of the Remingtons with Apex Ammo. I am going to try the 2 1/4 oz load of 7.5 through it. Good luck, be safe...

I defer to others' experience with TSS, but from a purely theoretical level it seems pellet count isn't something you're worried about, thanks to the diminutive shot size and its impressive sustained energy. I'd take fewer pellets and more energy in that situation, with the all-encompassing caveat of seeing how it patterns (and I would be utterly and completely shocked if 7.5 or 9 shot patterns out of an IC .665 are anything less than outstanding. My IC .665 does fantastic with 5 shot lead, but would do better with 6's. Can't imagine that not being even more true with TSS 7.5 or 9).

Make each pellet ubiquitous deadlier.

Get the biggest load your shoulder can stand to shoot. Those 2.25 are not fun.
