How many team members are still hunting? and where?

I am...:hello99:!!!
I've been after a couple of gobblers all week (missed one of them monday). I got a new game plan for these two for tomorrow AM and hope to redeem myself. I've been covered up in jakes for the past several days. Team member Doublebeard shot a big one today, probably won't top his current entry though. We are hunting in the western Finger Lakes Region of NY. The hunting is just starting to get good now as the hens are little behind in their nesting and the gobblers have had WAY too much female companionship for the past few weeks.
The New York season is open till May 31st. I hunted again(in the rain) yesterday with no luck. This is the worst season in a decade for me. Ten days hunted, five birds heard, three worked, passed on a jake and couldn't get it done on a long beard that circled me.

Don't give up yet man, the action is just beginning to heat up now that the hens are starting to nest. I've been covered up in birds over the past several days...passed on 10 different jakes and have had 4 longbeards within 50 yds. I called in 3 gobblers for my dad on stateland yesterday...we caught them @ 10:45 and worked them until noon. Dad had a big ole longbeard spitting/drumming 25 yds from him but couldn't get a shot through the dense foliage. It's only a matter of time...
Glad to see you N.Y. boys are still out there hunting too! Keep at her boys maybe we will all have something to post before the end of the season. :z-guntootsmiley:
good luck to all the guys that are still chasing the thunder chickens
You fellows that are still out there after it, we need two more birds to hit 10. Go out there and disrespect them nasty ole hens and steal their men right away from them! Lie to those gobblers like you have been lied to by previous girlfriends! Promise them the kinky stuff!
Fun season anyway, right? That's what's important here.
Cheers :z-guntootsmiley:

Team member spurz added one yesterday giving us a total of nine birds...
Right you are. This leaves us needing just one more.
I call for a Gobbler Jihad to all those still out there! Pull all of your IEDs and HTLs out of hiding from your spider holes and let the feathered infidels have it right in their snoody Fatwas! Their prostitute hens don't even wear the burqa of decent women (although your camo mask can serve in a pinch)! Send them to heaven and their ultimate reward of 72 young hens, I don't care. He won't have any more feathers on his keel after all of them anyway. May they all be Boss Hens!
Roaring 20's Akbar!
Cheers :anim_25:

Just got back from Michigan and I got an upgrade - 64.125. Hens are probably still wondering where daddy went :fud: 8)
I'll make him famous on the kill thread.
Sounds like a good one. Congrats!
Not having too much luck the past few days other than getting wet ;D . Saw 2 nice strutters Saturday afternoon in a field but couldn't get them to play. They were strutting for 5 or 6 hens for a good hour before they left the field on the opposite side to me and into the forbidden land.
How's 'bout you WNY Bowhunter.
At least its way better than sitting on the couch or starting the honey do list though. Only 2 days left after today and can't get back out this afternoon. At least it is supposed to get sunny for a few days.
Did I tell you I'm going turkey hunting tomorrow and then I may even go the next day :z-guntootsmiley:
I'm done with no luck. Sorry fellas, I'm usually always good for at least one bird. I guess the jinx was joining the team this year. Congrats to everyone that scored. The weather certainly didn't help in my area. Wettest spring on record since the early 1900's. Hope the hens can hatch their broods.

Timbr,
Sadly, I havent been out since killing bird #2 on friday. Dad had to fix his truck saturday morning, I slept in yesterday, we got rained out today and he has to work tomorrow. Looks like it'll be a LONG 11 month wait til next season...
Bummer !
I haven't been having too much luck. I am just hunting before work now. Today 3 longbeards and 6 hens flew down out into the field and then proceded to march off to the forbidden zone on the next property again. I am thinking they have me patterned now. I am going to give it one more try tomorrow and then I'm done. One more sunrise in the turkey woods left until next year :'( .
Good luck!!! :anim_25:
Thanks for the good luck but I think I just used my luck up.
I have been watching the birds cross onto a property I can't hunt just about ever time I hunt them like clockwork. I have asked the property owner before to hunt but he won't let anyone hunt his land. Well today I figured nothing to lose and asked him again. Cha Ching ! He must have felt sorry for me because he said I could hunt tomorrow only until 8 am. :z-guntootsmiley: :z-guntootsmiley: Yee Haw !!
I hope I have just enough luck left to take one of them Toms for a ride in the truck tomorrow ;D .
Man talk about putting on the pressure and waiting until the last minute.
Good luck on those crazy birds. I LOVE getting one that thinks that he has figured out all of the angles on surviving the gauntlet that is ME!
Cheers :z-guntootsmiley:

Good Luck!
Well, we've got a big ole longbeard roosted tonight for the final hunt of the NY season. He's got two hens with him and he's been pressured. Hopefully, they'll roost right off of the cornfield that they were picking around in tonight and will fly down into the field in the AM. It's gonna be a straight up ambush type hunt without any calling. With any luck my dad or uncle will get a crack at him. I'll be tagging along with my videocamera. :anim_25:
Well WNY Bowhunter I hope your dad or uncle made out as good well better than I did. I didn't get the big boy or his twin but was able to put the hurt on his littler brother with the crossbow at 745 am this mourning. I am at work now but I will put up some details later. He is not an upgrade but good enough to fill my last tag on the last day ;D .
Congrats! Our player didn't read the script either. He roosted farther back in the woods than we had hoped. He gobbled a few times on the roost and shut up once he hit the ground around 5:30. We could only hunt til 6:00 and he never came out into the field like he was supposed to. Oh well, he should be around for next year carrying around bigger hookson his legs.
Let's stick a fork in the 2011 season...
